Nathaniel Cariss is a Sound Designer born in London. He studied at the University of Edinburgh, gaining an MA in Linguistics, followed by an MSc in Sound Design. 

The beginning of his passion for sound was probably hearing Supergrass on the radio. But that passion really came alive after starting to explore the work of Autechre, Aphex Twin and PC Music. Suddenly he saw that sound could create utterly otherworldly, futuristic environments, and he wanted to be part of that.


His work includes sounds for video games, soundtracks for theatre productions, and his own personal projects, which include audio/visual pieces and work in Unity game engine. 

He is particularly interested in projects where he can find ways to make sounds that haven’t been made before.
